Under Windows 8.1 - following a reboot

If I launch XE8.1 with no saved project open -or- if I do a File | New | Multi-Device Application - Delphi, the [Multi-Device Application] dialog only has two choices: Blank & 3D.

If I launch with "-r" then I see the "full set", i.e. Header/Footer & Master-Detail & Tabbed, etc.

But I only get this "full set" when I launch with "-r".

What's up with my IDE? (He says with a frightened look upon his face, fearful of what this might portend).

In either case (with or without "-r") <Run as administrator> makes no difference.

-Thanks

I had that problem before when my license was messed up somehow. I think I ran Rad Studio and I didn't have a C++Builder license setup or something similar. Once I re-registered the serial numbers in license manager and/or just ran Delphi directly the problem went away.

I fully updated the license(s). No change. I think I'll call Tech Support tomorrow.

Also: what do you mean "just ran Delphi directly"? I see 68 EXE files in my <XE8>\bin folder, but none of them look like candidates for that...

Ok, now I'm a bit confused.
bds.exe is the one that I'm running.

the Title Bar says
Project1 - Delphi XE8 - Project1.dproj

I "upgraded" to v8.1 on a new machine (which had no previous EMB software on it).
I think I only installed Delphi.
I do have InterBase XE7 installed (IBConsole v12.0.0.0).

Assuming I'm not interest (at least for now) in C++ Builder, what else might I be missing?

From Help | License Manager...:
License Details:

Title: RAD Studio XE8 Enterprise Named User Upgrade from XE4 or later
License Expiration Date: Unlimited
Is Subscription: Yes
License Type: Workstation
Registered: Yes
Platform: Windows
Commercial use: Yes

This License Activates:

Delphi XE8 Enterprise
Delphi 10 Seattle Enterprise
HTML5 Builder
C++Builder XE8 Enterprise with Mobile
C++Builder 10 Seattle Enterprise with Mobile
InterBase XE7 ToGo Edition 1 User
InterBase XE7 Developer IDE
RAD Studio 10 Seattle Enterprise

I notice:
Delphi 10 Seattle Enterprise
C++Builder 10 Seattle Enterprise with Mobile
RAD Studio 10 Seattle Enterprise
for 10 Seattle.

But for XE8, only:
Delphi XE8 Enterprise
C++Builder XE8 Enterprise with Mobile

Also, the fact that I only see Blank & 3D under

File | New | Multi-Device Application - Delphi
should I be concerned that other stuff might be off with the IDE? Or is this probably an isolated quirk?

Maybe he meant like this:
<path to>\bds.exe -pDelphi -np

This will start RAD Studio with only the Delphi personality loaded and
no auto-open of the last project.

If you had Rad Studio installed (or maybe if you have Delphi and C++Builder installed) and you double click a DPR to launch it you will get Rad Studio. If you launch Delphi from the Start Menu you will get just Delphi.

If it is working with the option "-r" you can always use "-cleanregistryide" (http://support.embarcadero.com/article/42597) to have the normal link working. You will lose all the 3rd party products and customizations that you have made to the IDE, but it could be worth.
