Android App Created Data Files not visible on PC

If I create a data file on an android device, I cannot see it from the PC, but I can see it on the device.

The app on the device can see it as well, as the following code works.

I can see it in a file explorer on the device.

Why can I not see it on the PC, file explorer or the PortableDeviceAPI?

if TFile.Exists(sFile) then
begin
Log('Data File Exists - Appending');
TFile.AppendAllText(sFile,FsData);
TFile.SetAttributes(sFile,[]);
end
else
begin
Log('File Not Exists - Create File');
TFile.WriteAllText(sFile,FsData)
end

I tried setting the file attributes to no avail.

Why are simple things so hard? What is the point of having an app on the device if you cannot read its files?

Where exactly are you creating the file on the device? What is the actual
path? Some folders are private to the app and not accessible to the rest
of the device, and not all public folders on the device are accessible to
the outside world.

I have created a folder sdcard0/data/scannerdata and I can put files into it from explorer and portabledeviceapi (mtp_demo) and I see those.
the files appear if I restart the phone. Do I need to publish them, in some way?

If you reconnect the Device to your PC does it show the file?
I have the same problem, I think its a issue with Windows.

If you disconnect and reconnect the device the files still do not appear. I have not tried rebooting the pc.

But in Windows Explorer they do not appear until you TURN THE PHONE OFF AND RESTART.

Why?

Hello,

I have an app which uses and creates files in the downloads folder.
Sometimes they're only visible to Windows after a reconnect or something
like this. I'm not sure which side is at fault: either Windows doesn't
properly refresh even if being told so or Android doesn't present a
current directory listing to Windows. And yes: it's a royal pain in the a..!

Greetings

Hm? I used Win 7 and some Android 4.x and 5.x phone.
But you might be able to build a file sync app or so using AppThethering.

I think it is definitely a Firemonkey Embarcadero problem. Other apps do it properly, and so they ought to.

So I register it as a BUG.

What do I do now?
