Hello,

I've been installing C++Builder Berlin on a Windows 10 PC, which also has C++B 2010 and C++B Seattle previously installed without any issues. When installing the latest TMS Component Pack (expecting to be able to use these components in both 32 bit and 64 bit applications, as I can do in Seattle), I found that the 64-bit builds were failing silently.

After finding the relevant TMS installer log files, and scanning for errors, I find that the reported error is ' "C:\Program Files (x86)\Embarcadero\Studio\18.0\bin\dcc64.exe" is invalid'. On looking in this location on disk, I find that there is no dcc64.exe, only dcc32.exe.

On checking the equivalent folder for the Seattle installation, there is dcc64.exe in the usual place. Am I missing something? Apologies if everyone else went through this back in April and I'm late to the party...

When you installed Berlin, did you choose to install support for 64bit?
Berlin introduces a new Feature Installer (http://docwiki.embarcadero.com/RADStudio/en/Feature_Installer)
and Feature Manager (http://docwiki.embarcadero.com/RADStudio/en/Feature_Manager)
that lets you manage which programming languages and target platforms are
installed in the IDE.

Hi Remy,

Yes I did, in fact I selected to install all 3 (32 bit and 64-bit Windows, and OSX). I have the 64-bit C++ compiler, and can build library and application code in C++ no problem. It's just the building of 64-bit Delphi libraries that is missing. I tried copying the dcc64.exe from the Seattle bin folder over to Berlin but as expected the TMS installer was no happier. Puzzling. I may re-install Berlin tomorrow. But I'll take another look at the Feature Manager first.

Thanks.

It sounds like you did not choose to install 64bit Delphi support, only 64bit
C++ support.

I have not installed Berlin yet, so I have not experienced the new installer
yet.

Andrew,

this is a known bug in the (web) installer:
<https://quality.embarcadero.com/browse/RSP-14580>

If you install from the ISO image (which can download only after you
installed and registered C++Builder 10.1 Berlin - using the web
installer) the dcc64 will be present.

Hans

Thanks Johannes, this has indeed fixed the problem.
