Hi,

I'm using Delphi 10 seattle for developing android mobile application. And the users are requesting the Tackback functionality for the blind peoples. I think delphi does not provide this facility. Can we expect this functionality in future Delphi release ?

Thanks in advance,
Markus Humm

Hello,

what is talkback? Some sort of speech output? If yes, that could be
implemented.

Talkback is the functionality which will be used by blind people. Please find the link for Google talk back: [Google Talkback: | https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.marvin.talkback ] . And if we enable this app. Then it will speak the content of the text selected. Please provide some more extra information for implementing this for Android using Delphi 10 seattle

Ok I see now clearer. I doubt FMX will have support for that out of the
box already. What can be done is to use the TTS engine to produce speech
output and you can have your device vibrating.

If those items are interesting for you I can look up the specifics on
the HDD. For the TTS there was some sample created by one of the EMBT
folks which should be found via their blogs, if not come back and ask.

Hello,

as I already wrote: there is a blog post and a sample implementation
available from one of the current or former EMBT Delphi staff.

It might have been from Malcom groove.

To give you a starter:
http://www.fmxexpress.com/tag/text-to-speech/
(was found via google: Delphi Android TTS)

There is no accessibility support for Delphi mobile apps (out of the box) without using native controls.

Hello,

this is not automatically speaking the components.
But with some effort you can make it do.

You need to provide some way to start the TTS for your user (not sure you can connect it with Talkback).
This would start TTS and loop through all the components on the current form (e.g. Form1.Contents or so).
Depending on the ClassName or so of the control you can decide what to output.

For a label you'd output the contents of .Text, for a trackbar you might output the .Value.ToString value of it etc.

I'm doing something like this "sort of for fun" in one of my apps and the work needed is not too much.
You just need to implement s´your kind of support for all the different relevant control types you use.

And as for the original talkback: go over to quality.embarcadero.com, post a feature request and report
the number of it here, so other interested users can vote for it and track it.
