Bitmap.PixelFormat still a read only property?

I have a Firemonkey Imagecontrol I'm using to capture signatures in an Android and iOS app. The resulting bitmap isn't recognized by ReportBuilder (or Paintshop), and I think it's because the bit depth is too high. The bitmap is editable in Paint, and if I manually edit it and save it as 16-bit then it works fine. Based on my research, the Bitmap.PixelFormat was read only at one point, and still seems to be. Is there a workaround, without my having to write a VCL app to reformat the bitmaps once they're in my VCL app?

Hello,

is there a feature request in QP to enable a user selection of the bit
deptht the image shall be in?
If not you might want to create one.

Greetings

I wanted to confirm that my understanding was correct. If it is, I will submit a feature request.

An update to this issue... I had forgotten I posted the question here. As it turned out, the issue was not bit depth, but that (even though the control is named 'Bitmap', the image format in iOS or Android is more likely to be PNG. I discovered this by using a hex editor and looking at the header of the image file.
