Take a look at www.nexusdb.com It's very fast and support is great.

The BDE replacement by Embarcadero is FireDAC. For client/server
connectivity you will need either Professional edition with the FireDac
add-on, or the Enterprise edition or higher. You can read here:
http://docwiki.embarcadero.com/RADStudio/Seattle/en/Migrating_BDE_Applications_to_FireDAC
on how convert a BDE application to FireDac.

Thank you very much for your answer
with nexusdb and firedac on the server side does not need any installation or configuration in the client computer? is the server integrated to the exe program?
Best Regards

It sounds like you don't want client/server, but rather what most people
would consider embedded. FireDac can certainly communicate to an
embedded server if that is what it is. One example is using InterBase
ToGo/IBLite.

NexusDB and FireDAC don't 'talk' to each ohter.NexusDB comes with all
the components you need. It can be either client/server or embeded.
Also, they offer free embeded version, so if your software is not
client/server - you can use it. It is writen in Delphi.

While the components that NexusDB are almost certainly the best
connectivity choice for it, if NexusDB has an ODBC driver you could use
it with FireDac.

Yes, they have ODBC driver, as well as .NET and PHP.

The BDE is/was like a driver engine for Delphi to connect to databases. (BDE installed on the client side) Your Delphi program is talking with the database components via the BDE to the database. With FireDac the situtation is the same but the communication with the database is directly and there is no need for an extra engine anymore. Your executable is directly talking to the database. FireDac compiles into your executable. The advantage of FireDac is that it is developed as a replacement for the BDE and this means that the database components you use in Delphi are very much the same as FireDac components. (properties and methods) TQuery is replaced as TFDQuery, TTable is replaced as TFDTable, etc..
