Delphi & Bluetooth support problem

Hello,

official Embarcadero Website declare support bluetooth technology. So I downloaded trial Berlin 10.1 and tryed official examples from this link: [http://docwiki.embarcadero.com/CodeExamples/Berlin/en/RTL.ClassicBluetooth_Sample]

I have two USB Bluetooth adapters (2.0 and 4.0). I use them almost everyday without any problems. But Delphi application allways show error "Bluetooth device not found: disconnected or turned off". Description of this error is inside link above too. Looks like Delphi not support my Bluetooth adapters. Of course, adapters are on and connected. Tryed on Windows 7 Pro 64bit.

So, does Delphi support Bluetooth or not? If I download any application using Bluetooth (radar / seeking devices in range etc.), it will successfully recognize my USB Bluetooth adapters. Why not Delphi?

Is there any way how can I create application in Delphi which will use "any" Bluetooth devices. I mean TRUE Bluetooth support.

Thank you.

Hello,

there's no way to move it. Sorry.
It's just that your technical question is more apropriate for the other
group.

Bluetooth support basically works, but I guess they only support the
Microsoft Bluetooth stack. Especially older hardware uses different
stacks like Broadcom (discontinued with Windows Vista afaik), Toshiba or
BlueSoleil which all have a different API in comparison with MS Stack.

If you need support for more than MS Stack you should look at the wcl
component package from a Russian vendor. I already used that years ago
and is works mostly quite well. The developer also provides resonable
support as far as possible (if you've bought an edition with some months
of support) and a trial is available as well.

Thank you for reply. I know Wireless Communication Library but it is expensive for my personal use. I see that upgrade from my XE2 license is useless than.

If someone will have same problem, I found that Bluetooth LE (4.0) is supported from Windows 8. Using it on Windows 7 will show missing dll error.

When I uninstall official USB Bluetooth drivers (Toshiba) and leave Microsoft generic ones, it successfully detect only Bluetooth 2.0 but not 4.0! Even on Windows 10 I still can not able to use Bluetooth version 4.0 which I need more than 2.0.

Hello,

I'm not sure whether the Toshiba stack supports BLE.
And afaik BLE is really only suipported from Windows 8 onwards.

Hello,

something else: I think n!works has some BT support nowaydays as well.
But I'm not sure and I'm not sure this is included in the version EMBT
usually gives away for free.

And you might like to change your EDN person name.

This personal ID I choose while I tryed to download a trial version of Delphi. I do not like forcing to enter personal data because of my security. Embarcadero should give you a choice,
