I installed the RAD studio 10.2.1 update and accidentally forgot to specify not to install Interbase. I uninstalled the developer_ibxe7 version of XE7 and when I attempt to remove the IB Protocol and Interbase environment variables, they always return when I restart the IDE with the developer_ibxe7 values. Thus I cannot connect to my gds_db instance. I scanned the registry but can't seem to find where these settings are coming from. Any help to remove the developer_ibxe7 references and force the IDE to point to my gds_db reerence would be most appreciated. I guess I could delete and reinstall the RAD update but would prefer not to.
thank you

Jay,
In your RAD Studio IDE, you might also want to select Tools > Options > Environment Options > Environment Variables and update the following new "User overrides" entries for making local client connections.

* delete INTERBASE environment setting, if set.
* Add/Update IB_PROTOCOL environment variable and set the value to "gds_db"

Hope this helps.

Best wishes,
Sriram
