I am standing up two new Windows Server 2016 machines, and I'm using Firebird 3x.
I have used FlameRobin for many years because it is specifically built for Firebird and it's light weight.
However, the latest available install throws MSVCP errors and Widget errors when I run it.
I solved the MSVCP errors, but it looks like I have to do a complete build of FlameRobin to get it to run on Windows Server 2016, according to these instructions:

http://flamerobin.blogspot.ca/2015/11/flamerobin-building-instructions-for.html

Has anyone gone through these instructions and made a working copy of FlameRobin for Windows 10/ Server 2016? If so is it posted somewhere that I can download? If not, anybody want to do it for me and I'll send you $100 Canadian via PayPal?

An installer would be nice, but I will gladly accept just a .zip file with some copy/paste instructions, modify PATH instructions... what ever. I will gladly install MSVC++ version required. (I have already installed MSVC 2015, and I can see other programs have installed even earlier versions). I just don't want to get into downloading Git, running builds, etc.

I rescind my offer. I've downloaded Lazarus, and it looks like I can build my own FlameRobin-like Firebird database management tool quicker than I can...

- Download Windows Studio
- Download Widgets
- Download Boost
- Figure out all the broken folder links, parameter requirements
- etc.
- etc.

Which project are you referring to?

Not what you asked for but, I use SQL Manager from
https://www.sqlmanager.net/. Is it free for up to 5 databases.

Hi Rael,

I went through all the products listed on the Third Party Tools page, both commercial and free, and not a one of them are what I want. Here's a summary of the reasons for "no go":

- Does WAY too much. Tons of features I don't need nor want, Way too expensive
- Does not work. Connections fail for various reasons, so I have to tinker with .config or download some specific old version of something.
- Not made SPECIFICALLY for Firebird. I don't want to have to use JDBC or ODBC to connect.

I'm building my own now, so in a month or so, I shd have a FlameRobin replacement.

(Oh, something to note, I'm installing on Windows Server 2016, so, that is probably why many of the products don't "just work" out of the box. Anyway, that's not my fault, so I'm moving ahead with taking some time to build my own.)
